More Than an Eye Practice. A Part of Your Community.

Island Eye and Face is the aesthetic practice of Island Eye Specialists. Founded in 2006 as Crown City Eye Center, we became Island Eye Specialists in 2023 to reflect our growing focus on fellowship-trained, specialized care. Island Eye and Face carries that same standard into facial aesthetics.

Our approach starts somewhere different from most aesthetic practices. We come to the face through ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery, which means we understand the anatomy around the eyes with a precision that shapes every recommendation we make. That background informs how conservatively we treat the delicate periorbital area and how carefully we assess what will actually look natural on you.

Rooted in a town shaped by military service, we care for our patients with skill and compassion. Our mission is simple: to deliver exceptional aesthetic care, powered by advanced technology, personal attention, and a deep commitment to doing what is right.
Aesthetic Care You Can Trust

Care Built Around You

From facial aesthetic treatments to OptiLight therapy for dry eye, every visit is shaped around your goals and your comfort. Explore what is possible.

OptiLight Dry Eye Treatment

OptiLight by Lumenis is a gentle, FDA-approved light therapy designed to treat the root cause of dry eye disease, not just the symptoms. Targeted pulses of light reduce inflammation and restore the glands that keep your eyes comfortable and clear.

For patients tired of drops that only mask the problem, OptiLight may be a good option to address chronic dryness at the source. Most see meaningful relief over a short series of quick, comfortable sessions.

TriLift 2.0

TriLift 2.0 combines dynamic muscle stimulation with radiofrequency microneedling to lift, firm, and rejuvenate the face in one treatment. By working the underlying muscle and the skin together, it helps restore definition along the jawline, cheeks, and brow.

The result may be a naturally lifted, refreshed appearance with no surgery and no recovery time. A short series of sessions is designed to build smoother, firmer, more youthful-looking skin.

Botox

Botox smooths the fine lines and wrinkles that come with everyday expression, softening frown lines, forehead creases, and crow's feet while keeping your face natural and your expressions your own. Administered with a precise, conservative hand, treatment may be a good option for refreshing your appearance without looking overdone. Results develop within days and keep you looking like a well-rested version of yourself.

The Doctors Behind Your Care

Meet the Team

Island Eye and Face is led by the same fellowship-trained, board-certified ophthalmologists who care for patients at Island Eye Specialists. Each brings a background spanning clinical excellence, military service, and academic leadership, and that experience carries directly into the aesthetic work they do.

Dr. Thomas J. Avallone, MD, founder and medical director, built the practice on a foundation of specialized, patient-first care. Dr. Todd J. Mondzelewski, MD, brings the perspective of both an experienced ophthalmologist and educator, while Dr. Katie Topping, MD, leads our oculoplastic and facial aesthetics work with a refined surgical eye. Dr. Paul Ware, MD, rounds out the team as a comprehensive ophthalmologist dedicated to complete, everyday eye health.

Together they bring decades of combined surgical and medical experience to every patient. What sets the team apart is not just their credentials. It is the way they listen, plan, and treat with a precision that feels personal. Every patient is cared for with the values the practice is built on: honor, duty, integrity, service, respect, and safety.
